Frogs try to keep up winning streak

Although the volleyball team is off to its best start in program history as it makes its home debut today, head coach Prentice Lewis said the best is yet to come.

“If we’re peaking now we’re in trouble,” Lewis said. “We’re doing well, but we want to be peaking when we start our conference play.”

Soccer to play in tourney
Frogs look to rebound from SMU loss

The women’s soccer team plans to incorporate what it learned from a recent loss to Southern Methodist in this weekend’s four-team tournament at Garvey-Rosenthal Soccer Stadium.
Tailback out for season with knee injury

TCU senior tailback Ricky Madison will miss the remainder of the season after suffering a knee injury in the Horned Frogs’ 17-3 win over Navy on Saturday, TCU head coach Gary Patterson announced Thursday. Madison underwent arthroscopic surgery Thursday to repair the damage.
Cross Country Season Opener this weekend

The TCU men’s and women’s cross country teams get their fall seasons underway Saturday, when they travel to Denton to take part in the 26th annual North Texas Invitational. The meet will be held at UNT’s Research Park Facility, with the men getting started at 8:00 a.m. for a four-mile run, followed by the women at 8:40 a.m. for a two-mile event. Other teams expected to be in the field for the UNT Opener include Baylor, SMU, UT-Arlington and the host school, North Texas.

Former golfer to play in Solheim Cup

TCU women’s golf alum Angela Stanford is set to represent the United States in the Solheim Cup, which takes place Sept. 12-14 in Malmo, Sweden. Stanford, the most decorated golfer in Horned Frog history, played at TCU from 1996 to 2000. During that span, she won a school record nine collegiate tournaments, was named second-team All-American three times and first-team All-American once.
