TIPA:
SKIFF & IMAGE TOPS IN TEXAS2000
The TCU Daily
Skiff newspaper and Image Magazine have been recognized by the Texas
Intercollegiate Press Association as winners of its grand prize
Sweepstakes 2000 awards, and their student staffs won 26 first and
second place awards in the statewide competition that determined
the grand prize recipients.
The awards
were announced Saturday, April 21, at the TIPA 2001 Conference hosted
by Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls.
Journalists
from the Daily Skiff won five first-place awards, including best
sports feature, news photo, picture story, news page design and
sports page design.
Image magazine
was chosen best overall magazine and won other first-place awards
for best single issue, story package, cover, news feature, feature
photo, picture story illustration and information graphic.
