Student Government discusses new business

New business was introduced for the first time this semester at the Student Government Association meeting Tuesday night.

Commuter representative Sebastian Moleski, a sophomore international communications major, introduced a bill to support Alpha Epsilon Delta, Texas Zeta, an organization for pre-health students.

If passed, SGA would help Texas Zeta attend the 35th AED National Convention in Washington, D.C.

The bill will be debated in next week’s meeting.

Elections and Regulations chair Nick James, a junior political science major, said dates for this fall’s SGA elections are officially set.

Filing for office will run from Oct. 14 to 28. Campaigns begin Oct. 28, and will continue until election day on Nov. 11.

Dining Services chair George Ferguson said petitions are being passed around to improve Pond Street Grill.

“A lot of students have been telling me that the hours are not good on the weekends,” said Ferguson, a sophomore international business major. “There isn’t breakfast served, and they are serving pizza instead of sandwiches, which students say they do not like.”

Ferguson said the petitions will show how much students want something done.
