Frogs
lose two in 3-game series against Memphis
After
TCU junior Clayton Jerome struck out a career-high 12
in game one, Memphis rallied to claim game two to ensure
a split of Saturdays doubleheader and give the
Tigers a two games to one series victory over the Horned
Frogs this weekend at Nat Buring Stadium. TCU (20-15,
7-5 Conference USA) took Saturdays opener 8-0,
while Memphis (10-20, 3-9 C-USA) won the nightcap 5-4.
The teams played two on Saturday in order to conclude
their three-game C-USA series before expected rain moves
into the Memphis area Sunday.
Jerome
was the story of the game one shutout. The right-hander
fanned two Tigers in each of his first four innings
and one more in each of the last four frames en route
to the 12-strikeout performance.
