Leadership
Institute hosts dinner, discussion on ethics
Imagination, passion and contribution were the buzz
words at the ninth annual Leadership Institute Thursday
night.
The theme for the evening was the mystery behind
leadership. A gourmet three-course dinner was
served as TCU trustee Scott Colglazier spoke about the
ethics of leadership to a packed room at the Dee J.
Kelly Alumni and Visitors Center.
Leadership is about touching something in the
lives of other people, Colglazier said.
After the speech, table hosts led discussions for community
leaders and students by presenting three ethically controversial
scenarios.
Kate Carrico, Leadership Council chairwoman, said the
number of students this year is double last year. She
said the Leadership Institute changed its format this
year from a two-day conference to just a dinner because
there was not enough interest in the conference. The
institute is important because it fosters relationships
between students and community leaders, she said.
