The Great Divide
Addison and Randolph Clark, brothers who founded the university as AddRan Male and Female College in 1873, are depicted in statue outside the library, facing Sadler Hall. TCU's largest academic unit still bears the distinctive name of the brothers, but Chancellor Michael R. Ferrari announced last week that the AddRan College of Arts and Sciences will be divided into the AddRan College of Liberal Arts and the College of Science and Engineering by next fall. Two other colleges will split or reshape under the new plan.
