Americans
recognized their vulnerability in 9-11 wake
COMMENTARY
The events of Sept.11 have saturated our collective
consciousness. Before the tragedy, I rarely if
ever was reminded of how vulnerable we all are.
Now, the reminders are as ubiquitous as the American
flag stickers on cars. We all go on with our busy lives,
but we are a little more aware of the fact that we are
not invincible. For the most part, Americans response
to this vulnerability has been compassionate and sensitive,
which impresses and encourages me.
